DOES MY BABY HAVE COLIC?
Symptoms
- Crying Inconsolably for hours
- Pulling knees up
- Spasm feeding
- Aching low back pain
Causes of Colic
The cause is often birth trauma affecting the neck and cranial bone which have to overlap for the head to go down the birth canal.
This often affects the vagus nerve which comes through a hole in the skull and supplies the abdominal digestive organs causing colic.
An indication that your baby may have colic, is the head can be visibly distorted due to an induced birth i.e. long labour, forceps, suction.
