CONSULTATION
The consultation usually takes 45 minutes. A detailed case history is taken with regards to any past or present periods of pain, lifestyle factors and previous medical history.
A physical examination is given to check the movement of your spine, joints and general posture.
Neurological and orthopaedic tests will be used to help the chiropractor make a diagnosis and decide the best treatment plan.
Subsequent visits
Subsequent visits take approximately 15-20 minutes.Once symptoms improve, prevention of occurring pain will be focused on through rehabilitation, exercises and lifestyle advice.
Treatment will vary depending on your exact needs, and usually involves, specific gentle manipulation by hand called an adjustment, to restore correct function, mobility or alignment.
Recovery times vary, dependant on the problem, your age and lifestyle. Also, your commitment to any advice the chiropractor may recommend.
In most cases, a definite change for the better will be noticed early on in your treatment plan.
